Looks like the trend continues! Internet Retailer reports a growth of 13% in e-commerce sales for the first quarter 2013.
The growth continues, and one very cool fact is, "Consumers in the first quarter spent 10.6% of their discretionary spending with online retailers, the highest share to date and up from 9.4% in the first quarter of 2012, comScore says."
Even more interesting and important is how fast mobile e-commerce sales is growing. "Mobile commerce sales for 18 retailer clients of m-commerce technology provider Branding Brand jumped 74.4% from $8.2 million in April 2012 to $14.3 million in April 2013, the vendor reports. M-commerce accounted for 10.8% of the retailers’ total web sales of $76.0 million in April 2012 and 15.9% of web sales of $89.9 million in April 2013. Sales via tablets grew 70.8% from $6.5 million in April 2012 to $11.1 million in April 2013. Sales via smartphones increased 88.2% from $1.7 million in April 2012 to $3.2 million in April 2013." - Internet Retailer
